New York-based Security Mutual has announced the appointment of Emmett Cavanaugh (pictured above) as commercial lines underwriter.
Previously employed with Utica First Insurance Company, Cavanaugh served as a multi-line claim adjuster. He brings over three years of industry experience to his new role, where he will be responsible for assessing, evaluating, and underwriting risk.
A resident of Utica, Cavanaugh earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the State University of New York at Oneonta. As a property casualty adjuster, he is qualified in all lines besides workers’ compensation.
Security Mutual president Ron Wilder expressed his excitement about the new hire and said that Cavanaugh’s background and experience “will make him a wonderful asset to Security Mutual.”
Represented by a network of over 400 independent agents throughout the state of New York, Security Mutual provides P&C insurance to businesses and individuals. The company was organized in 1887 as a small country cooperative with $1,273 in premiums. Today, it has written over $48 million in premiums.
